European Network of Construction Companies for Research & Development
ENCORD is a forum for all industry stakeholders whose main business lies in the construction sector. Founded in 1989 ENCORD has become a major network in the construction sector. Our members are leading companies and suppliers with a business focus on Europe. Representatives of the companies are decision-makers and executives working on research, development and innovation.

AI in Construction
The construction sector faces several significant challenges, including persistent labour shortages, cost overruns, safety concerns, material price volatility, and strict environmental regulations. These issues can delay project timelines, increase budgets, and compromise safety and sustainability.
However, the introduction of AI (artificial intelligence) offers promising solutions to these challenges. By streamlining processes and automating routine tasks, AI can potentially enhance productivity, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. In terms of safety, AI-powered systems can predict potential worksite hazards, and suggest preventive measures, significantly improving safety standards.
While the potential of AI is clear, the AEC sector generally is still at the starting line. This report aims to provide a better understanding of the current level of adoption, where construction companies foresee opportunities and threats, and where they identify their weaknesses and strengths.

Circularity report
Are you interested in how circular economy principles can be applied to the construction industry? If so, you might want to check out this white paper by ENCORD The paper explores the challenges and opportunities of circular construction, such as deconstruction, material substitution, renovation, and new business models. It also provides insights and recommendations from different working groups within ENCORD.
ENCORD, EIC and FIEC
ENCORD's contribution to EIC's ‘Manifesto on Achieving Carbon and Resource Neutrality in the European Construction Sector’ emphasises our commitment to creating a sustainable built environment providing housing and infrastructure for a growing population.
Shifting toward circular construction and reducing raw material consumption requires collaboration across the vast construction ecosystem. The strategic pillars highlighted by the Manifesto, i.e. Resources, Procurement, Financing, Energy and Data, provide anchor points for future development in the built environment.
